According to the November 1999 issue of Freethought Today, Sorel, a graphic artist, is a member of The Freedom From Religion Foundation. He addressed the Foundation's 1997 national convention.
Edward Sorel's works have been on display at the National Portrait Gallery at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC (late 1999).
Accompanying one of his works titled, "Pass the Lord and Praise the Ammunition", is the following quote: "What I enjoy attacking," Sorel has noted, "are things that everyone else is not attacking. Which brings me to my favorite target: organized religion."
