Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger (born July 30, 1947) is an Austrian-American politician, actor, filmmaker, businessman, author, and former professional bodybuilder. He served as the 38th Governor of California from 2003 to 2011. As of 2019, he is the most recent Republican governor of California.[1]
In an interview with Howard Stern on Oct 7, 2019:
Howard: Are you afraid of death?
Arnold: I'm not afraid of death, I'm just pissed off about it. Especially when you have a life like we have and then one day it's over, I mean that really pisses me off.
Howard: Governor, where are we gonna go when we die? Tell us the truth.
Arnold: Well the truth is that you go six feet under. And you're gonna rot there.
Howard: That's it?
Arnold: Yes, absolutely.
Howard: I thought you were gonna be uplifting.
Arnold: But that's the reality. Hopefully there's a life after this and we all know it's gonna be different if there's a life after this. I hope there's a life after this.
Howard: There isn't one, is there?
Arnold: Well it's not gonna be like this. I'm not gonna sit after we're dead and do interviews and have a great time, and have laughs, and have Robin there, giving us this beautiful smile.
Howard: Robin won't be there?
Arnold: No, so this will be different. Maybe there will be angels sitting around, maybe there will be god there smacking us everytime we say a four letter word or something like that. I mean shit, I don't know what it is. But it is upsetting, and I can not stand it.
Howard: Are you angry about it?
Arnold: I'm so angry about it. I'm furious about it.
Howard: Me too.
Arnold: That's why you and I are so much alike, we want to be the only ones that'll live forever.
An interview with People
In 2023 Arnold Schwarzenegger said the following:
"When people talk about, 'I will see them again in heaven,' it sounds so good, but the reality is that we won't see each other again after we're gone. That's the sad part. I know people feel comfortable with death, but I don't,"
"To me, heaven is where I put a person who I love dearly, who is kind, who is generous, who made a difference in my life and other people's lives," he said. "I keep them in a spot in my head, like that front row that you have of all of your friends. And you always have a good feeling when you think of them."
