The German Atheist Magazine MIZ (4/96, p.44) quoted from an article in the 1/6/95 issue of the publication SUPER-ILLU:

SUPER-ILLU editor Wolff asked Piech "What do you believe?"

Piech responded "My persuasion is, that one must have such a lifestyle, that the end can come everyday and then one's conscience is clear. That is connected with the fact that I'm an atheist. One should always have a clear conscience concerning one's environment and the people. This is my attitude."
